Easy "fried" Potatoes

Ingredients
- Servings: 4
 
- 2 tablespoons butter or 2 tablespoons margarine 
 
- 4 potatoes or 1 1/2 lbs potatoes 
 
- 1 medium onion 
 
-  salt & pepper 
 
-  paprika 
 
- 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese (optional) 
 
Recipe
- 1 wash potatoes & slice thin but do not peel. 
 
- 2 peel onion &slice thin. 
 
- 3 use 1/2 of the butter to grease a 3 quart casserole dish. 
 
- 4 fill casserole with alternate layers of potatoes and onion and the optional cheese if desired. 
 
- 5 sprinkle each layer with salt and pepper. 
 
- 6 the top layer should be potatoes. 
 
- 7 dot remaining butter on top. sprinkle with paprika.
