Savory Sweet Potato Fries
Total Time: 40 mins
Preparation Time: 10 mins
Cook Time: 30 mins
Ingredients
- Servings: 4
- 2 large sweet potatoes
- 1/4 cup olive oil
- 1 teaspoon crushed rosemary
- 1 teaspoon thyme
- 1 teaspoon cinnamon
- 1 teaspoon sea salt
- 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
Recipe
- 1 preheat oven to 450 degrees.
- 2 wash the potatoes with cool water and pat dry. no need to peel them but you can pull of the little "stems".
- 3 cut the potatoes into fry-size pieces. if you don't have a fancy gadget for this, i suggest enlisting your husband to do this because sweet potatoes are hard to cut!
- 4 place all the fries in a gallon size ziploc bag along with the oil. seal the bag and toss to coat.
- 5 open the bag and add in the seasonings. toss again until all the fries are evenly coated.
- 6 spread the fries out on two baking sheets. this gives them enough room to get crispy. if they're too crowded, they just get steamed and soggy.
- 7 bake the fries in the oven for 15 minutes and then turn the fries using a pair of tongs or a spatula. bake for another 15 minutes.
- 8 fries should be slightly crisp. some black on the edges is okay, since it's pretty tasty, just not too much!
