Smashed Potatoes

Ingredients

- 3 lbs potatoes, peeled and cut in large dice
- 1 teaspoon onion salt
- 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
- 1/4 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1/4 teaspoon paprika
- 1 cup low sodium vegetable broth or 1 cup water
- 1/2 cup unsalted butter, room temperature and cubed
- 1/2 cup milk
- cooked crumbled bacon
- fresh snipped chives
Recipe
- 1 place the potatoes, onion salt, pepper, garlic powder, paprika and stock in a lightly greased medium slow cooker.
- 2 cover and cook on high for 3 ½ hours.
- 3 stir in the butter and milk.
- 4 with a potato masher, gently crush the potato mixture until the butter has completely melted and the mixture is smashed.
- 5 stir and garnish with either crumbled bacon or snipped chives.
- 6 serve warm.
