Potatismos (swedish Mashed Potatoes)

Ingredients

- 2 1/2 lbs potatoes, peeled and cubed
- 6 ounces milk, warmed
- 2 teaspoons salt
- 1 teaspoon pepper
- 1 teaspoon caster sugar
- 1/4 teaspoon nutmeg (or less, to taste)
- 4 tablespoons butter
Recipe
- 1 in a large pot, cover the potatoes with water and boil until tender.
- 2 drain and mash the potatoes with a masher.
- 3 slowly whisk the milk together with the potatoes, preferably with an electric whisk. add more milk if the mash is to firm.
- 4 season with salt, pepper, sugar and nutmeg.
- 5 add the butter and whisk until melted.
