Tusken Raider Taters - Star Wars

Total Time: 23 mins Preparation Time: 8 mins Cook Time: 15 mins

Ingredients

  • Servings: 4
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 lb purple potatoes or 1 lb russet potato, peeled
  • 1/4 cup milk
  • 2 tablespoons butter
  • salt and pepper

Recipe

  • 1 fill a large saucepan two-thirds full with water.
  • 2 add the salt.
  • 3 cut the potato in half length-wise.
  • 4 holding a potato half cut-side down, slice it lengthwise into one-inch slices.
  • 5 bow hold the slices and cut across them in the opposite direction to make one-inch pieces.
  • 6 add the potato to the pan.
  • 7 repeat with the remaining potatoes.
  • 8 bring the water to a boil and boil the potatoes, uncovered, until tender, about 10 minutes.
  • 9 drain potatoes into the colander.
  • 10 return the potatoes to the pan.
  • 11 mash with a potato masher.
  • 12 add the milk and butter.

  • 14 potatoes can be as smooth or as lumpy as you like.
