Nana's Borscht

Total Time: 40 mins Preparation Time: 10 mins Cook Time: 30 mins

Ingredients

  • Servings: 6
  • 46 ounces tomato juice
  • 2 large onions, peeled
  • 2 (15 ounce) cans beets
  • 32 ounces water
  • 2 tablespoons salt
  • 2 cups sugar
  • 1 cup lemon juice
  • 6 potatoes, boiled and peeled
  • sour cream

Recipe

  • 1 blend tomato juice and onions.
  • 2 chop beets and add to water.
  • 3 put all ingredients in large pot and bring to boil.
  • 4 lower heat and simmer for 30 minutes.
  • 5 remove from heat.
  • 6 refrigerate.
  • 7 to serve: put potatoes in bowl. add borscht and dollops of sour cream.
