Smashed Potatoes

Total Time: 4 hrs Preparation Time: 30 mins Cook Time: 3 hrs 30 mins

Ingredients

  • Servings: 10
  • 3 lbs potatoes, peeled and cut in large dice
  • 1 teaspoon onion salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1/4 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon paprika
  • 1 cup low sodium vegetable broth or 1 cup water
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, room temperature and cubed
  • 1/2 cup milk
  • cooked crumbled bacon
  • fresh snipped chives

Recipe

  • 1 place the potatoes, onion salt, pepper, garlic powder, paprika and stock in a lightly greased medium slow cooker.
  • 2 cover and cook on high for 3 ½ hours.
  • 3 stir in the butter and milk.
  • 4 with a potato masher, gently crush the potato mixture until the butter has completely melted and the mixture is smashed.
  • 5 stir and garnish with either crumbled bacon or snipped chives.
  • 6 serve warm.
